Looking back at last month, students from Ma On Shan Tsung Tsin Secondary School stepped out of the classroom and transformed from energetic students into environmental recyclers, participating in two market recycling experiences and personally experiencing the true meaning of "cherishing food"!

Learning through experience: Recycling is not easy at all; pushing carts, weighing, sorting... all require hands-on work. Through this process, students understood that recycling still-edible vegetables is not only environmentally friendly, but also reduces the impact on the environment.

Touched by the vendors' kindness: The market is full of human warmth! The vendors were especially considerate of the students doing the activity. Even after the queue had already passed, several stall employees kindly chased after them, insisting on handing the vegetables over to the students!

Everyone was deeply moved, realizing that by taking just one more step, even overcooked food that isn't presented at its best can become a valuable resource.

A student's thoughts: "Seeing so many fresh vegetables that were originally going to the landfill was such a waste. From now on, I'll make sure to finish my entire bowl before eating and learn to cherish food more!"
